Have your say now on the EU's next long-term budget!
The multiannual financial framework sets out the EU's spending priorities for several years, supporting millions of people, farms, researchers, businesses and regions in the EU and beyond. The European Commission wants to make the budget more sustainable and is inviting all citizens to have their say on the planned measures before the official presentation in July 2025.
For stakeholders in research and innovation (R&I), the consultation on future EU funding for competitiveness is particularly relevant.
Initial ideas on the financial structure have already been published in Communication (COM 2025) 46, which proposes for a Competitiveness Fund for Research and Innovation. Take the opportunity to respond to the public consultations until 6 May 2025!
The next long-term budget is expected to enter into force in January 2028, if adopted later this year.
More information on the new approaches to the EU budget can be found on the European Commission’s website.
