The European Commission is currently conducting a public consultation to gather input for the roadmap for the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Facility in the period 2025-2027, as set out in the second Strategic Plan for Horizon Europe, the R&I component will be implemented as a cross-cluster instrument in Horizon Europe with an indicative budget of around EUR 120 million per year.

The New European Bauhaus (NE B) aims to ensure that the benefits of the European Green Deal are reflected in people's everyday lives and living environments. Since the NEB was set up three years ago, it has offered solutions to concrete problems. These solutions are based on research and innovation (R&I), putting Europeans at the centre of the green transition.

The NEB Facility aims to ensure that Europe continues to fully realise this potential in the future. It builds on the previous NEB initiative and will be divided into an R&I component and a roll-out component: The multi-annual budget support for 2025-2027 will be provided through two pillars: one on research and innovation to develop new ideas and one on roll-out to scale up such solutions. As set out in the second Strategic Plan for Horizon Europe, the R&I component will be implemented as a cross-cluster instrument in Horizon Europe, with an indicative budget of around EUR 120 million per year.
In the amended 2023-2024 Horizon Europe work programme, EUR 20 million has been earmarked for preparatory measures for the implementation of the NEB Facility.

The EU Commission recommends that participants in the consultation read the scoping paper on the NEB Facility.
The consultation is open until 17 September. It can be found here.
