EU Council excludes 21 Hungarian universities from Horizon Europe and Erasmus funding over Hungarian rule of law breaches

More than 30 higher education and cultural institutions in Hungary, including 21 universities, have been excluded from Horizon Europe and Erasmus funding retroactively to 15/12/2022 due to ongoing concerns about Hungarian rule of law violations. Hungary has so far received just over 60 million euros under Horizon Europe alone to fund 199 projects.

Research at the interface of artificial intelligence, humanities and social sciences is a highly dynamic and nowadays inevitable field. Big data and machine learning have the capacity to revolutionize research about humans, their social formations, and their cultural practices, while research in the “soft” sciences is fundamental for understanding the potential consequences of changes imposed by technological advances.

Switzerland extends funding guarantee for participation in Horizon Europe

The Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) has pledged to continue reimbursing the costs of Swiss partners in approved Horizon Europe and Euratom projects for the 2023 calls.

EU research ministers adopted Council conclusions on the new European Innovation Agenda and research infrastructures with the aim of strengthening Europe's competitiveness. Europe is a leader in science, but lags behind the US and China in innovation.

Horizon Europe: EU Commission has published Main Work Programme 2023-2024

The Commission has adopted today the main Horizon Europe work programme 2023-24, with around €13.5 billion to support researchers and innovators in Europe to pursue breakthrough solutions for environmental, energy, digital and geopolitical challenges.

European Innovation Agenda: UAS4EUROPE presents the innovative power of HAWs in the European Research Area

The network of European universities of applied sciences (HAWs), UAS4EUROPE, has published „A UAS’ers guide to building innovation ecosystems” in connection with the European Innovation Agenda (EIA). The guide uses quantitative data to document the statistically measurable influence of HAWs on Europe's innovative strength and serves as a basis for constructive engagement in the implementation of the EIA.

BayFOR awarded as "Employer of the Future"

The "Deutsches Innovationsinstitut für Digitalisierung und Nachhaltigkeit (DIND)" has honoured BayFOR in the categories "Top Service" and "Employer of the Future" - and thus as a customer-oriented, competent and digital service provider as well as a digital, innovative and modern employer. BayFOR's Managing Director, Martin Reichel, has received the award in Cologne from former Federal Minister of Economics and Justice Brigitte Zypries. The criteria for the DIND award included the future orientation in the area of digitalisation of employer benefits, as well as BayFOR's customer orientation.
