The first ever ABBY-Net Summer School was held in Kananaskis, Alberta from 5th August to 13 August, 2012. Total attendance was 43 people including 14 senior researchers (instructors), 26 student participants from six institutions, and three guests representing industry and government.
Guest speakers included Dr. Daniel Hofmann, Siemens who presented on sustainable solutions for energy systems; Lori Neufeld, Imperial Oil Ltd. who presented on oil and gas development in Alberta from the industry perspective; and Brett Purdy, Alberta Environment who presented on regulations related to oil and gas development in Alberta.
