International cooperative business ventures mask a high potential for conflict that can often be traced back to the intercultural differences and misunderstandings between the business parties. This research proposal examines the special features of the Indonesian and Singaporean economic culture and its effects on the collaboration of small and middle sized German companies with their Southeast-Asian partners. The goal of this project is to analyse culturally determined conflict situations and to develop suitable solution strategies. It is hoped that this will lead to increased success in business cooperation.
