The international symposium on “Climate Change and Social Science” on July 8, 2021 invites Bavarian, Israeli and other European stakeholders from research, industry and other fields to explore new cooperation and network opportunities by focusing on four specific topics from the new EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation "Horizon Europe" (Cluster 5, Destination 1) mentioned below. The event is organized by experts of the Scientific Coordination Office Bavaria-Israel of the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) and the Israel-Europe R&D Directorate (ISERD).

On 27 April 2021, the first Bavarian-Israeli Round Table on Hydrogen took place, during which eight Bavarian and Israeli representatives from the fields of research and development presented the latest trends and current topics in the field of hydrogen. 

On 16 September 2020, the Scientific Coordination Office (WKS) Bavaria-Israel, together with the Israel-Europe R&D Directorate (ISERD), the Bavarian-French University Centre (BayFrance) and the Science Department of the French Embassy, will host the 5th Bavaria-Israel Symposium in the form of a trilateral seminar.

Together with the German Embassy in Israel and the Office of the Free State of Bavaria in Israel, the Scientific Coordination Office (WKS) Bavaria-Israel of the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) is organising an expert discussion on 15 September 2020 to discuss the special opportunities and challenges of the EU Green Deal Call from different perspectives.

The Covid-19 pandemic poses completely new challenges to scientists all over the world. How can university teaching and international research cooperation be realised at all in view of travel and contact restrictions?

On 12 May 2020, the Scientific Coordination Office Bavaria-Israel and the Israel-Europe R&D Directorate (ISERD) will host the 4th Bavaria-Israel symposium, which, after Jerusalem in November 2019, will now take place as an online webinar coordinated from Munich and Jerusalem.

From 09-11 November 2019, the third "Bavaria-Israel Symposium" took place, organised by the Scientific Coordination Office (WKS) Bavaria-Israel together with the Bavarian office in Tel Aviv and the "Israel-Europe R&D Directorate" (ISERD), for which purpose a delegation of Bavarian scientists travelled to Israel.

During a delegation trip to Israel, the Bavarian Minister of Science Bernd Sibler and 19 university representatives from all over Bavaria, the Bavarian Research Alliance and the Innovation Authority of Israel concluded a partnership agreement that focuses on close cooperation in the realisation of joint research projects, especially within the European research framework programmes.

The second Bavaria-Israel Symposium took place in Munich from 20-22 May 2019. 

In cooperation with the Tel Aviv office and the “Israel-Europe R&D Directorate (ISERD), the Scientific Coordination Office (WKS) Bavaria-Israel initiated its first Bavaria- Israel symposium on digitalisation issues in October 2018.
