Mistral-SAP-UB II

Aim of the project: The aim of the project MISTRAL is the implementation and analysis of a function set, that allows the use of a pilot-implementation of the UB-Tree in the data-warehousing application. Especially the schema that is used by SAP for their business information warehouse shall be investigated. This project is carried out by the Bavarian Research Center for Knowledge Based Systems in cooperation with SAP AG. It is the continuation of SAP-UB (implementation and performance measurement of the UB-Tree) and consists of the following project phases:

• Conception and implementation of a function set for data-warehousing applications
• Analysis of the SAP BIW schema and construction of database with this schema
• Carrying out the test data and performance measurements

Besides extensions and improvements of the existing UB-Tree library and further analysis of the UB-Tree will be carried out. This research will be carried out as a subproject of MISTRAL, where multidimensional indexing as well as their contents on the DBMS are investigated.
