ITEX

Field of work:

The European Textile and Clothing Industry intends to improve its reactivity to consumer´s expectations and to better regulate the flow of products from spinning to distribution. These objectives, if achieved, will enhance the industry´s competitiveness and its ability to better satisfy changing market requirements. They necessitate mastering the exchange of information between the components of the textile chain.

ITEX aims at assessing the information technology currently available and compare it with industry´s requirements. At the conclusion of the programme, recommendations will be made to undertake whatever development will be needed to bridge the gap between available technology and requirements.

ITEX will also allow the dissemination of current information techniques to the companies of the sector and particular attention will be devoted to involve small and medium size enterprises.

ITEX may, in the near future, become part of a wider and more ambitious project concerning all the interfaces in the textile chain.

Application:
Dissemination of ITEX results is done through CD-ROM and the ITEX webservice TEX-Line
