Simulation and Validation of Social Cognitive Robots in the Digital Twin
Sub-project 4 pertains to the simulation and validation of socially cognitive robots within the digital twin. The objective is to identify a selected set of social parameters relevant in human-robot interaction, simulate them within a developed three-dimensional virtualization environment of a digital twin for a variety of use cases, and ultimately generate synthetic training data based on the collected dataset. By the project's conclusion, a statement regarding the robot’s social competence (quantity of social skills) can be made for a given use case where social robots and humans interact. The unified digital representation of parameters and data through digital twin techniques facilitates simplified prototype development without the necessity of physically deploying real assets (in this case, the social robot).
