D2 - Novel Antigens from the Duodenal Ulcer Promoting Gene (dupA-) Gene Locus as Biomarker for Optimization of the Serological Helicobacter Pylori Diagnostics
The “duodenal ulcer promoting gene” (dupA-) is part of a novel type IV secretion system (T4SS) of H. pylori, which is of special importance for induction of duodenal ulcers in humans. In this project we plan to identify appropriate recombinant proteins from the duodenal ulcer associated T4SS and evaluate them as antigens for a new H. pylori ELISA or Western blot. With this the H. pylori diagnostics might be improved and potential dangerous H. pylori strains should be identified as early as possible.
