SP8 Strategies for generating acceptance for digitisation

The aim of subproject 8 is the development of strategies and instruments to increase the acceptance of digital engineering methods in the daily work and environment of engineers.

The aim is to combine the application domain of digital engineering with scientific theories and methods. By means of the design research approach, practically applicable artifacts are to be created that take up elements of acceptance theory and relate them to people, organisational and technical systems in an industrial context, thus corresponding to the environment of BEV development described in the application.

The Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) as a mechatronic system combines the fears and reservations of the disciplines of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science regarding the widespread use of digital engineering methods. Therefore, context-related strategies and instruments that can be applied to further use cases are of particular importance here. For this reason, subproject 8 will also address the possibilities of generalizing the findings for mechatronics development.
