RESEARCH NETWORK FOR NEW STRATEGIES IN IMMUNOTHERAPY
Tumor Vaccine
For tumor therapy, the identification of tumor-specific antigens and pathways of antigen presentation to the immune system is of major importance. Dendritic cells have been demonstrated to be extraordinary potent immunostimulators with the ability to enhance the immune response to tumor cells. Therefore, the use of dendritic cells in cancer immunotherapy is being explored. Another aim is the development of methods for specific elimination of tumor cells by the induction of programmed cell death.
