Demographic transition and globalisation are among the tense dynamics that make care a fundamental societal challenge. "Who cares for whom, and how?" is a question that has gained increasing momentum- especially as gender relations keep changing.
 
In Bavaria, new and traditional forms of care coexist due to its diversity in terms of its regions and social structure: rural and urban spaces, structurally strong or weaker regions, culturally diverse milieus, and a great variety of religions and worldviews are typical characteristics of Bavaria.
 
The Bavarian Research Association pays special attention to this complexity. Its analyses consistently zoom in on Bavaria and explore needs, specifics, and potentials that are relevant for the Bavarian context. Many projects cater to concrete practical concerns and establish lasting cooperations.
