eTA is a new entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to Canada by air. The authorization is electronically linked to your passport and is valid for five years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.

ABBY-Net Summer School results in hydrology paper

The master's thesis, "Impacts of Forest Fires and Climate Variability on the Hydrology of an Alpine Medium Catchment in the Canadian Rocky Mountains" by Johanna Springer (LMU) was published in Hydrology. Ms. Springer was a student at the inaugural ABBY-Net Summer School in Kananaskis, Alberta, and the concept for the study originated there. Ms. Springer was co-supervised by Prof. Dr. Ralf Ludwig from Ludwig-Maximilians Universität and Prof. Dr. Stefan Kienzle at the University of Lethbridge.

Third ABBY - Net Summer School in Alberta was a success!

The third annual ABBY-Net Summer School was held in Kananaskis, Alberta from 10th August to 17th August, 2014. Total attendance was 44 people including 14 senior researchers (instructors), 26 student participants, and four guests representing industry and government.

First ABBY-Net Summer School in Alberta was a success!

The first ever ABBY-Net Summer School was held in Kananaskis, Alberta from 5th August to 13 August, 2012. Total attendance was 43 people including 14 senior researchers (instructors), 26 student participants from six institutions, and three guests representing industry and government.
Guest speakers included Dr. Daniel Hofmann, Siemens who presented on sustainable solutions for energy systems; Lori Neufeld, Imperial Oil Ltd. who presented on oil and gas development in Alberta from the industry perspective; and Brett Purdy, Alberta Environment who presented on regulations related to oil and gas development in Alberta. The Summer School was complemented by ABBY-Net’s Second Workshop, which was a productive and successful event. Visit ABBY-Net’s page here.
